Aging and dementia care: closer to home

Dr. Guy Proulx (Director, Glendon Centre for Cognitive Health (GCCH))
Living older and healthier is possible. Close to one million Canadians are in the 84 to 94 age group. Although an average of 30% have three chronic diseases, we are witnessing a new era in healthcare. The aging population, including those with dementia, are requesting care and services closer to home. What can we do to ensure that the need for more aging- and dementia-friendly communities is met?
