York Gairdner Lecture

Please join us for the 2021 York Gairdner Lecture on Oct. 21 from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., featuring one of this year’s laureates, Dr. Jens Juul Holst, a professor in the Department of Biomedical Sciences and a group leader at the Novo Nordisk Foundation Center for Basic Metabolic Research in the Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences at the University of Copenhagen in Denmark. Winner of the prestigious Canada Gairdner International Award, his lecture is titled “Exploration and pharmacological potential of the incretin system in humans.”

The event will also feature Dr. Patricia J. Garcia, a professor at the Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia, an adjunct professor in the Global Health Department at the University of Washington and a member of the Gairdner Global Health Award Adjudication Committee. Her lecture is titled “Public Health in Peru: From Research into Policy and Action.”
