York Dances is a bold, immersive performance experience featuring original choreography by 44 third-year Dance majors. Presented in a promenade-style, site-specific format and inspired by the radical spirit of Judson Dance Theatre, audiences are led through a series of campus locations where dance unfolds in unexpected places. Each work responds directly to the architecture and public art that define our shared spaces, transforming the campus into a living stage.

Created, produced, and performed by students – across all levels of York University’s Dance program -York Dances is a celebration of collaboration, experimentation, and emerging artistic voices, with faculty support throughout the process.

Join us on March 26 (Series A) and March 27 (Series B), and experience the next generation of choreographers as they reimagine familiar campus spaces through movement, risk, and creative discovery.

Series A: Here  – Thursday, March 26 | Show Times: 6:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. (Departing from the CIBC Lobby)
Series B: There – Friday, March 27 | Show Times: 6:00 p.m., 6:30 p.m. & 7:00 p.m. (Departing from the CIBC Lobby)

Check-in Location on Performance Night:
Tickets will be scanned and wrist bands issued at the York Dances Check-in Table located in the CIBC Lobby, Main Level, Accolade East, York University.

Guests will depart the CIBC lobby at the time noted on their ticket. Ushers will guide the audience to the various performance locations on campus.

Ticket Availability Note: The performance areas have very limited capacity and performances will sell out in advance. There is no guarantee of ticket availability on the day of show.
