YI Wellness Week
York International welcomes you to de-stress with the Global Community! We know that November is a busy month with assignments and finals approaching but don’t forget to take care of yourself and practice self-care.
We have planned an eventful week of wellness activities for you as outlined below:
DAY 1: Identifying and Managing Stress:
A Workshop with Student Counselling and Development (SCD)
Date: Nov 25 from 1:30pm to 3:30pm
Location: Room N 110, Bennett Centre for Student Services (meet at 200 York Lanes at 1:00pm)
SCD’s counsellors will be conducting a workshop at their centre focusing on identifying and managing stress. Guided by professional counsellors, it will be a good opportunity for you to experience some of Counselling and Development’s many services.
I. Budgeting your allowance with RBC
Date: Nov 28 from 1230pm-130pm
Location: RBC Branch at the Quad (meet at 200 York Lanes at 12:10pm)
The holiday season is coming! Learn the tips and tricks on how to spend your allowance as the festive season approaches.
II. Coffee Break and Exam Preparation with Learning Skills
Date: Nov 26 from 2pm-4pm
Location: Global Cafe
Learning Skills Peers will be sharing tips on how to prepare for your exams and ace those final papers.
DAY 3: Stress Relief Through Art
Date: Nov 27 from 12:00pm to 2:00pm
Location: 242 York Lanes
From drawing to colouring, to calligraphy and writing, art has been proven to be a good way to relieve stress. Relax and get creative with us while enjoying some healthy snacks!
DAY 4: Coffee Break
Date: Nov 28 from 2-4pm
Location: Global Cafe, 244 York Lanes
Come and meet new friends on our regular coffee break! Drop-ins are welcome.
DAY 5: Get fit with the YorkU Lions: A trip to the Tait McKenzie Centre
Date: Nov 29 from 10:30am-12:30pm
Location: Tait McKenzie Centre (meet at 200 York Lanes at 10:00am)
The YorkU Lions at Tait Mckenzie will be giving you a sneak peek of Tait facilities and conducting a Yoga Session. They will also share health and nutrition tips for your diet. Remember to come prepared with your gym/working out attire.
