Webinar for Incoming Grad Students – You’ve been admitted! What’s Next?
Congratulations on your acceptance and admittance to grad school at York University! We are so excited to have you join the Faculty of Graduate Studies (FGS) as emerging scholars, future leaders and positive changemakers who will make an impact in academia, in public and business sectors, and in our communities.
We hope you’re already looking forward to your program orientation events – many of which will take place over the summer or at the start of the Fall semester. But, to help you get started even before then, FGS has put together a virtual session to help you ensure a smooth transition into your program: think of it as a guide to the steps between acceptance and the start of class.
We invite both domestic (Canadian) and international incoming graduate scholars to attend our June pre-arrival webinar, jointly hosted by Alice MacLachlan, Vice Provost & Dean of FGS and the FGS Student Affairs team:
Topic: You’ve been admitted! What’s Next?
When: Tuesday, June 18
Time: 12:30-1:30 PM (EST)
Location: via Zoom Webinar
In this session, we will go over a checklist of useful resources such as: how to accept your offer, submitting required documentation to meet conditions, disability accommodations, setting up Passport York and your email account, how to register for academic terms, how to enrol in courses, getting your YU card, the cost of living in Toronto, transit options, health plans and services, attending GRAD@York and more!
[We’ll also be available to answer questions you may have, to the best of our ability – and to direct you to the right place for any that we can’t]
Registration is required: https://yorku.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_KMKzkQO-TLun1qS-CHFPqg
Should you have any questions, please email us at FGSNEWS@YORKU.CA.
We hope to meet you virtually in June!
