ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Brandon Vickerd is a sculptor and Professor at York University, where he also serves as the Chair of the Department of Visual Arts & Art History. He teaches bronze casting, metal fabrication, and professional practices. Purposely diverse, his studio work straddles the line between high and low culture, acting as a catalyst for critical thought and addressing the failed promise of a modernist future predicated on boundless scientific advancement. Brandon’s work has won awards from prestigious organizations like the Canada Council for the Arts and the Ontario Arts Council. 

Meet Lan Vu the International Recruitment Officer for the York University School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design (AMPD). Lan holds a master’s degree in education from Canada, where she was once an international student herself. With 15 years of experience in student advisory roles, Lan has been a guiding light for countless students navigating their educational journeys.
