Trans Day of Remembrance: Embodied Remembrance
Join us (SexGen and CHREI ) for a gentle trauma-informed yoga session in honour of our bodies, our struggles, our memories and our strengths for Trans Day of Remembrance (TDOR) 2024. This session will invite participants to experience their own body in movement and stillness, acknowledge that whatever our journey our bodies are part of it, and to be present with what is. Participants are invited to do as much or as little of the instructed movements and cues as works for them. All bodies, no matter the shape, size, ability or identity, are welcome and appreciated. This will be an exclusively virtual session, so participants will participate in their own space, but the movements will be modelled on screen throughout the class.
Time & Date: Nov. 20 at 10 a.m. For registration, see link:

Join us (SexGen and The Centre) for a powerful and heartfelt dance workshop dedicated to Trans Day of Remembrance. In this workshop, we’ll come together to honor, remember, and celebrate the lives and resilience of the trans community through the transformative power of dance. Dance has always been a form of expression, healing, and celebration, and in this space, we’ll explore movement as a way to tell our stories, share our strength, and hold space for each other.
Time & Date: Nov. 20th at 2 p.m. For registration, email thecentre@yorku.ca.
