The York University Writing Centre and Graduate Student Support Workshop

In this brief introduction and Q-and-A, Dr. O’Regan will walk SLS’s graduate writers through the support available at York University’s Writing Centre. While many graduate students may not be aware of the benefits of the Writing Centre for their work, and may view these services as a “remedial” practice, York’s Writing Centre offers services and strategies for addressing common issues that master’s and doctoral students often encounter that impede writing progress. Offering analysis from his research in graduate writing, O’Regan will detail how the centre can help graduate students move forward in their studies.
