The Philippine Consulate General in Toronto and York University jointly invite you to a public forum celebrating the 75th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between the Philippines and Canada this year.

Date and Time: Monday, Oct. 28, 7 to 9:30 p.m. (doors open at 6:30 p.m.)
Venue: Tribute Communities Recital Hall and CIBC Lobby, York University
The forum features a panel of distinguished Filipino Canadians who will share their journeys towards professional leadership positions in various fields. The discussion will address the role of family, community, education and mentorship in navigating career success. In addition to reflecting on their successes, the panel will also consider what Filipino identity now means in the Canadian context, and the barriers and challenges still faced by the community.
Invited leaders:
  • Rechie Valdez, minister for small business, Government of Canada;
  • Flordeliz (Gigi) Osler, senator, Senate of Canada, Canadian Senators Group, Manitoba;
  • Steve A. Coroza, justice of the Court of Appeal for Ontario;
  • Ana Serrano, president of OCAD University; and
  • Glenda Bonifacio, dean of Lakehead University.
