Teaching Assistant Certificate in Teaching (TACT) – Winter 2027 Virtual Course
Throughout this course, you will have the opportunity to practice and experience different instructional strategies with peers from across the university. Discussion and reflection will centre around the ways in which your instructional strategies are informed by the teaching and learning literature, and the ways you use the strategies intentionally to align with your teaching beliefs and commitments to Decolonizing, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, and Accessibility (DEDIA).
By the end of the course, you will
– Connect and learn collaboratively with a community of individuals committed to professional development in teaching and learning
– Investigate the ways in which teaching strategies are used intentionally
– Express and practice different teaching and learning strategies to design and teach a 10-minute BOPPPS lesson giving and receiving feedback based on DEDIA and research evidence
