ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Angela Norwood, Chair of the Department of Design at York University, has passion for exploring design for knowledge and values. Her interest in blending traditional knowledge and contemporary practice drives her work to develop the design approach called “Reciprocal Design” – which has informed her career as an award-winning designer, educator, and researcher. From crafting corporate communications to helping US voters abroad, she’s shown that design is a powerful tool for 21st-century challenges. Her work’s been featured in scholarly and industry publications, and even found its way into the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) National Design Archives.
Meet Lan Vu the International Recruitment Officer for the York University School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design (AMPD). Lan holds a master’s degree in education from Canada, where she was once an international student herself. With 15 years of experience in student advisory roles, Lan has been a guiding light for countless students navigating their educational journeys.
