Speaking Diasporas: Interrogating Inter-generational Diasporas

Humans are called to and are oriented towards home. Nostos, finding home, appears to be among the deepest of human needs: a commonly shared emotion of returning to a place left behind, or to “found a new home in which hopes for the future can nest and grow”. Diaspora at once captures many of the ambiguities about replacing home and relocation, and about imagining, nostalgic memorializing, and/or reconnecting with what was left behind that forms the new self and collective identity of community. Join Founders College on April 19 for a conference interrogating and discussing diasporas. The conference will feature two panels, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
