Smyth Dialogues Reflections On Off-Reserve Indigenous Life

Join us for an important public dialogue with three Indigenous community leaders, on the topic of Off-Reserve Indigenous Life.
Christa Big Canoe, Jennifer LaFontaine and Sylvia Maracle will discuss their work and experiences supporting Indigenous people in Canada who live their lives mostly or entirely off-reserve. This distinguished panel will enable York University and our constituencies to learn from leaders about strong communities working to better the lives of Indigenous people whose experiences have been under-explored in scholarly circles.

Hosted by Bobbi-Jo Virtue, an Ininew (Cree) from St.Peter’s/Peguis Community in Treaty 1 territory and an assistant professor, School of Public Policy, Faculty of Liberal Arts &Professional Studies. A Q&A time will follow the panel.

You have the option to attend this event virtually via Zoom or in person at York’s Keele campus.
