Sharing Land Acknowledgement: Respecting Indigeneity within Learning Journeys

To build mainstream awareness as an early step on the forever journey of learning and Indigenous reconciliation, this interactive presentation will review and enhance understanding of the Land Acknowledgement, and discuss how broader acknowledgements respecting Indigeneity and each other may be situated authentically. We will also converse on basic terminology and definitions from an Indigenous worldview to enhance awareness of the often harmful impacts of public policy on Indigeneity across Canada, and how we may move forward positively for the mutual benefit of all. Please note that a safe educational environment will be consistently maintained to support participants in their experience of comfort and discomfort as necessary for their learning journeys.
