Sensorium Virtual Salon: Shaping the Future through Stories of the Now

Sensorium Virtual Salon: Shaping the Future through Stories of the Now
Join us May 28th as wecontinue our conversation around COVID-19’s reach into our social, cultural and personal lives.

Stories have a real function in shaping our collective imagination – the central mythology in today’s crisis being that of isolation and self-surveillance, but also of resilience and community. These stories urge us to consider our vulnerabilities today as catalysts for how we will shape the future of coexistence in an increasingly ‘woke’ world of hybridized technoscience, social justice and citizen agency. More than ever, we rely on stories to inform us about the world around us, but we also need them to speculate and to create a new scenography for the future.
In this virtual salon, let’s share stories from our families andhomes around the world, and discuss through informal presentations of interdisciplinary research, performance-creation, field work etc. our experiences and thoughts when “life takes control”.
For those interested in presenting at the salon, please email Centre Coorindator Alanna Dunlop atamdunlop@yorku.ca.

To RSVP, email sensinfo@yorku.ca- Zoom event link and password will be provided to those to RSVP.
