Sensorium HIVE Reading Group #2 (Part 2) – Return to the Sensorium: Sonic Sensibilities

Friday November 26 @ 1:30-3pm EST – Public Zoom meeting (please RSVP to receive link)

Thursday December 9 @ 1:00- 3pm EST– IRL soundwalk with Doug Van Nort, outdoors starting at York’s Keele Campus (please follow York’s Covid Regulations)

How do studies in the sonorous or sounding world resonate with the invisible architectures of an impending digital and networked culture?
What new texts may support our understanding of sound in the future?
How does sound play a role in our embodied experiences of the social and environmental movements of today?

Join reading group core members (Eva Lu, Aida Khorsandi, Hrysovalanti Maheras & Joel Ong) in discussing a prepared selection of texts that will explore these questions through the lens of practices, metaphors and philosophies in contemporary sound studies.

Following this, on Dec 9, Doug Van Nort will lead an outdoor soundwalk and Deep Listening workshop. We will meet at York’s Keele campus.

To RSVP please email sensinfo@yorku.ca.
