SDNR Community Engagement in partnership with York University and the 17th Annual Pow Wow is proud to host the ‘Real’ Toronto Indigenous Fashion Week

Through this event, Indigenous artists, models, actors, designers, dancers, drummers and elders will engage with York University and the city of Toronto through an array of round table discussions, artistic displays, an Indigenous fashion show and a marketplace as well as a Pow Wow and Grand Feast.
The conference and interactive discussion, titled “Everyday Indigeneity and Truth and Reconciliation,” will be held March 13. Various workshops, storytelling, sharing circles and smudging will take place on March 14. The fashion runway show with Indigenous models wearing handmade clothing designed exclusively by Indigenous designers will take place on March 15 at Daniel Spectrum Way, 585 Dundas St. E. (Artscape).
The final Pow Wow, Grand Feast and Marketplace will take place on March 16 inside Vari Hall. Additional collaboration will take place between Seneca College (Fashion Design Program) student Jodi Goodfellow’s Start-Up Fashion Week, Artscape, the Canadian Beauty College, the Aboriginal Students Association, Elders, the Metis Jiggers and so much more.
