Scholars’ Hub @ Home: The three key puzzles of political trust

Join Cary Wu, Assistant Professor in the Department of Sociology on September 27 at 12 p.m. for Scholar’s Hub. This talk addresses the three key puzzles: why political trust is high and stable in authoritarian China, why trust is declining in many Western democracies, and why racial minorities sometimes exhibit higher trust levels than their White counterparts. We’ll also discuss a novel approach to political trust. Central to this approach is a shift in focus from merely measuring how much people trust to how individuals place their trust.
