Scholars’ Hub @ Home | The key to equity and inclusion in online classrooms: Lessons from the COVID-19 pandemic
Featuring a talk by Sarah Barrett, Associate Professor, Faculty of Education
Summary of Professor Barrett’s talk
Equity was one of the first casualties of change when schools closed in March 2020 and teachers and students were suddenly physically separated from each other. This talk will describe the experiences of Ontario teachers and the students facing disproportionate academic, psychological and social consequences. These findings can inform how best to create equitable and inclusive classrooms online.
