The dramatic impact of pandemic lockdowns on personal behaviours and economies has led to changes in air quality; this provides a unique opportunity to learn about the causes of poor air quality. This talk will describe some of the overall changes observed globally during lockdowns as well as the impacts on highly polluted Indian cities.
Dr. Cora Young is an Associate Professor and the Guy Warwick Rogers Chair in Chemistry. She is an atmospheric chemist whose research focuses on the sources and fate of environmental pollutants. She is the recipient of the 2022 Environment Division Early Career Research Award from the Chemical Institute of Canadian. Her work has been featured in numerous media outlets including: Quirks and Quarks, the Nature of Things, and on the BBC.
