Return to Campus Debrief: Reflections on the Transition to In-Person Teaching and Learning for STEM

Whether you are looking to reflect on the past few months of teaching and learning, or you are starting to plan for summer and fall courses, we invite you to join us in debriefing some of the key lessons learned from the whirlwind Winter 2022 semester.

The Teaching Commons, the Lassonde School of Engineering, the Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change, and the Faculty of Science welcome you to this STEM-focused event on April 11 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a half-day of fully online discussions and debriefs regarding our collective return to campus and the transition back to in-person teaching and learning.

This event will feature interactive panel conversations with instructors and students who made the shift from online teaching to in-person classrooms. In addition to hearing their “lessons learned,” there will also be dedicated time to brainstorm your own anticipated challenges. Participants will also have the opportunity to attend an informal learning technology Q&A session over lunch.

This event is open to all who teach at York, and is welcome to those who have been teaching online and on campus to participate in some engaging conversations.

Event Schedule:

  • 10 – 10:30 a.m.         Welcome and Opening Remarks
  • 10:30 a.m. – noon    Instructor Panel: Lessons learned from transitioning to in-person teaching during the pandemic
  • noon – 1 p.m.             Working Lunch: Drop-In Teaching Technology Q&A Session
