Public Good and the Role of Integrity Commissioners during COVID: Guns for Hire or Beacons of Hope?
Panel Presentation
Panelists: Suzanne Craig, Guy Giorno, Melinda Munro and Sherri Walsh.
Moderator: Professor Robert Kenedy.
There have been many controversial decisions made by local and regional councillors, as well as by Mayors of Ontario municipalities, prior to and during the COVID-19 pandemic. This panel explores Mayors’ and Councillors’ conduct and controversies from the perspective of how Ontario Integrity Commissioners may be viewed in terms of the notion of working for the public good versus professionals whose actions focus on billable hours.
