Ontario Shores: Recovery College Co-Design Course
Are you interested in collaborating with others to create mental health programming for students here at York University? Then this course is for you!
In collaboration with Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences, Student Counselling, Health & Well-being (SCHW) is launching the “Recovery College”. A Recovery College provides health and well-being courses that strive to support students in living their best life by covering diverse topics like health, well-being and personal mental health recovery.
What will we do?
You and your peers will come together with SCHW and Ontario Shores to brainstorm ideas for Recovery College courses, which will be offered in winter 2025. You will decide on the course topics, the content and how you would like to engage students. As students, you and your peers know your needs better than anyone else.
What will we learn?
- You will learn about Recovery College, Co-Design and the Recovery College process.
- How to work as a member of a team to design and co-create relevant and impactful mental health-related courses.
- How to leverage your experiences as a post-secondary student navigating wellness as a source of strength and value.
This co-design program will run virtually every Friday over 5 weeks (except reading week) from 11AM to noon.
Participation is open to all students.
