Navigating Queer Resources (Online Workshop)
It is no secret that 2SLGBTQIA+ folks can face some unique barriers and challenges in university life. From struggling to find a safe community to trying to find queer-friendly resources to support health and wellness, it can feel like a lot to navigate. This workshop is meant to simplify this process for queer folk and allies here at York.
Join the Health Education & Promotion team as we examine the unique barriers and stigma faced by the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, discuss the importance of holistic wellness by utilizing the wellness wheel framework, and discover many of the queer-friendly resources available both on and off campus pertaining to:
- queer-informed mental health support;
- finding community and homelessness support;
- physical health-care, including gender-affirming care and queer-friendly primary care providers; and
- sexual health support.
