Navigating Queer Resources

It is no secret that 2SLGBTQIA+ folks can face some unique barriers and challenges in university life. From struggling to find a safe community to trying to find queer-friendly resources to support health and wellness, it can feel like a lot to navigate. This workshop is meant to simplify this process for queer folk and allies here at York!

Join the Health Education and Promotion Team as we examine the unique barriers and stigma faced by the 2SLGBTQ+ community, discuss the importance of holistic wellness by utilizing the wellness wheel framework, and discover many of the queer-friendly resources available both on and off campus pertaining to:

  • Queer informed mental health support
  • Finding community and homelessness support
  • Physical health care including gender affirming care and queer-friendly primary care providers
  • Sexual health support
