National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women Memorial

The National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women commemorates the tragic mass shooting at l’École Polytechnique in Montréal on December 6, 1989 that took place in an engineering classroom and left 14 women murdered.  

Each year, York University hosts a ceremony in honor of the victims and to inspire our community to act against gender-based violence.
