Media Arts Futures: In Conversation with Abhi
Game Designer, Programmer and Writer of Venba
Venba is a narrative cooking game where you play as an Indian immigrant mom who moves to Canada with her family in the 1980s. Players will cook various dishes and restore lost recipes, hold branching conversations and explore in this story about family, love, loss and more.
Abhi started Visai Games, a Toronto indie game studio, after leaving behind his career in software engineering to pursue his passions in game design and storytelling. He is currently working on Venba, which draws on his personal experiences and cultural background. He hopes to continue to make more games like Venba that focus on telling intimate stories through interesting mechanics.
