LA&PS Research to Impact Workshop Series: Leveraging Earned Media

More faculty members are becoming comfortable interacting with media and stepping into the public arena.

Learning about how to initiate contact and build relationships with media channels is becoming very relevant. This workshop invites experts from York Media Relations team to share tips about being proactive with different media outlets, streamlining the internal process with York Media Relations as well as other York services (e.g., YFile, events, CMPA and LA&PS communications), the art of storytelling, and tips for connecting with media and media relationship building.

York Media Relations expert panelist include: Kayla Lewis, news manager & deputy spokesperson; Yanni Dagonas, advisor & deputy spokesperson; Gloria Suhasini, senior media relations officer; and Sandra McLean, senior media relations officer.

Peer speakers include Thomas Klassen, professor, School of Public Policy and Administration as well as LA&PS support from Director of Strategic Research & Partnerships David Cuff; Director of Strategic Communications & Marketing Katherine Skene; and LA&PS Knowledge Mobilization Specialist Dina Taha.
