Information Session – CIHR Project Scheme: What You Need To Know

The Office of Research Services (ORS) and the Faculty of Health are hosting a CIHR Information Session for those faculty members who are in the process of or considering preparing an application to the upcoming CIHR Project Scheme competition. All researchers are encouraged to attend this session. This session is intended to provide potential applicants with a general overview of the Project Scheme, the peer review process, and tips and techniques on how to write a successful application.
This session includes the following speakers:
Lauren Sergio
School of Kinesiology & Health Science, Faculty of Health
Former CIHR Delegate for York University
Jonathan Weiss
Department of Psychology, Faculty of Health
AND
Shayna Rosenbaum
Department of Psychology, Faculty of Health
Dr. Sergio will speak to the various components of a Project Scheme application and give an overview of the peer review process. Dr. Weiss will discuss tips and strategies for preparing a winning proposal by using his application as a sample. Dr. Rosenbaum will give her perspective as peer reviewer and discuss what a strong application looks like and common pitfalls to avoid.
CIHR funds research in all areas of health research and this session will be of interest to researchers in all areas, from biomedical, to social science and humanities, to clinical.
