Who are we?
As part of the Government of Canada, Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) helps serve Canadians. With a strong focus on quality customer service, we provide innovative common services such as real estate and building management, purchasing, banking, pay and pensions, and translation to other government departments, agencies, and boards. By providing these centralized services to other Government of Canada departments and agencies, we enable them to focus on what they do best: providing their programs and services to Canadians. Within the Ontario Region, there are many opportunities in fields like Finance, Engineering, Project Management, Environmental Services, Material Management, Contracting and Procurement, Human Resources and much more! At PSPC, we are committed to achieving a competent, representative workforce that reflects the diversity of the Canadian population. We work hard to create a welcoming, respectful and inclusive workplace through a variety of programs and initiatives. In fact, we have been selected for The Career Directory 2024, as one of Canada’s Best Employers for Recent Graduates. This fall, we are focusing on welcoming students with disabilities and ensuring a fully representative student body that is engaged and supported throughout their work experience. When you succeed, we all succeed.

What You Can Expect:
This event is open to students with disabilities from YorkU, UofT and TMU.

Attendees at the event will get a firsthand look at how our work environment and practices are
designed to be inclusive and supportive, particularly for students with disabilities. We aim to demonstrate how we foster accessibility in our workplace.

Alongside gaining insights into PSPC’s operations and the work experience within the Ontario Region, attendees we’ll have the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the Federal
Student Work Experience Program (FSWEP) and receive guidance on navigating the application process.

FSWEP is an opportunity for students to obtain fair and equal access to student jobs in public service. It provides meaningful paid experience, improves employability, and offers insight into future employment opportunities. Employment Opportunity for Students with Disabilities’ Resource Page – wiki (gccollab.ca)

Through the Employment Opportunity for Students with Disabilities (EOSD) and the Indigenous Student Employment Opportunity (ISEO), students who self-declare as persons with disabilities and/or as Aboriginal (Indigenous) have access to culturally and ethically sensitive support, training, activities, and support services.
