Geography Alumni Lecture

Join us on Thursday, Feb. 26, for this year’s Geography Alumni Lecture. Presented by the Faculty of Environmental & Urban Change and the York University Geography Alumni Network (YUGAN), we are thrilled to invite Grace Adeniyi-Ogunyankin, Canada Research Chair in Youth and African Urban Futures and Associate Professor of Gender Studies at Queen’s University.

Grace Adeniyi-Ogunyankin is the Canada Research Chair in Youth and African Urban Futures and an associate professor in the Department of Gender Studies at Queen’s University. Her research examines how contemporary urban transformations shape youth identity, labour practices, psychosocial well-being, and futurity in Lagos and Ibadan, Nigeria. She also explores questions of subjectivity and belonging, as well as the use of Afrofuturism in projects that address the politics of difference in popular culture.
