Fireside Chat: Leveraging Your Graduate Degree with the City of Toronto
Note: This event is reserved for graduate students and postdoctoral researchers.
Are you interested in a career outside of the academy? During this online session, connect with professionals from the City of Toronto to learn how to navigate the world of post-academic careers as a graduate student or Postdoc, find out about employer expectations, hiring practices, and how to explore career opportunities with Canada’s largest city. You will also be introduced to the Toronto Urban Fellows program, which is a competitive opportunity for recent graduates in higher education to tackle strategic projects and make important contributions to the City of Toronto. While the 2023–2024 Toronto Urban Fellows program is accepting applications from May 1 to May 12, 2023, the application deadline will be extended to York University graduate students and postdocs attending the event who are interested in applying.
The discussion will be followed by a Q & A where you will have the opportunity to ask the speakers your questions.
