ABOUT THE SPEAKERS
Dr. Manfred Becker is a dedicated professor of AMPD in Filmmaking, editing, and documentary. His research dives deep into the biology and danger of story, editing as story creation, media Literacy and the question of digital afterlife - what happens to your social media footprint when you die. He is the author of Creating Reality in Factual Television – The Frankenbite and other Fakes (Routledge, 2022)  

Moussa Djigo is an award-winning filmmaker and scholar who knows the ropes of journalism and cinema studies. He’s the author of “Spike Lee: Aesthetics of Subversion in Do the Right Thing,” in which he shows how images can be used to send powerful political messages. Moussa is also a writer, director, and producer. He’s made two amazing fiction movies, “Obamas” and “Rosalie,” and they’ve won more than 20 awards! These movies have been shown in over 60 places all around the world. 

Meet Lan Vu the International Recruitment Officer for the York University School of the Arts, Media, Performance & Design (AMPD). Lan holds a master’s degree in education from Canada, where she was once an international student herself. With 15 years of experience in student advisory roles, Lan has been a guiding light for countless students navigating their educational journeys.
