As you may have heard, the School of Global Health (SGH) officially launched this summer. While global health existed as a program beforehand, now as a School, there is an opportunity for faculty to develop robust policies and initiatives – a priority area being equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI).
Being able to integrate EDI into the fabric of our academic culture and community requires hearing about what has, and continues, to be a problem within the curriculum, campus, and community (from colonization to racism to anti-indigeneity to homophobia to islamophobia) and what kinds of changes and new initiatives could promote our EDI goals/objectives.
This is a completely student-run and student-attended event led by the Global Health Student Association (GHSA). Students are invited to feel free and speak openly about their experience and what they would like to see the School work towards when it comes to current and on-going EDI work.
