The Department of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (EECS) at York University’s Lassonde School of Engineering is pleased to present the Electrical Engineering (EE) Program Showcase 2026, an engaging event designed to introduce students to the exciting opportunities, emerging technologies, and real-world applications of electrical engineering.
Date: Monday, November 2, 2026
Time: 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Location: BRG 125, York University
Organized by Professor Ebrahim Ghafar-Zadeh, Undergraduate Program Director in Engineering, the showcase will feature 10 faculty presentations, live demonstrations, laboratory tours, and interactive discussions highlighting research and innovation across electrical engineering.
Participants will explore a wide range of topics, including communications, control systems, optoelectronics, analog and digital electronics, artificial intelligence on chips, power electronics, electric vehicles, wearable and implantable devices, and biomedical engineering.
The event will provide a valuable opportunity for students, particularly first-year engineering students, to discover the breadth of electrical engineering, learn about research and career pathways, interact with faculty members and graduate students, and experience cutting-edge technologies through demonstrations and laboratory visits.
Complimentary lunch and networking opportunities will be provided, allowing attendees to connect with faculty, graduate students, and peers in an informal and welcoming environment.
All first-year engineering students are especially encouraged to attend. Students from other years who are interested in electrical engineering are also welcome.
