In 2019 10,478 Ontario residents visited the ER for Opioid-related reasons. 1995 were hospitalized and 1512 died.Opioid-related fatalities become more preventable with Naloxone training and drug safety education.Naloxone is an opioid antagonist that temporarily reverses opioid effects for 20-30 minutes.Buying a person time to reach the emergency department for medical treatment.2NA is honoured to be partnering with The John Howard Society of Toronto (JHST) for this event.
The training will be provided Joanne Amos, who is a case manager with the JHST and former nurse. Sign up to learn about drug safety and naloxone administration with 2NA and the John Howard Society of Toronto. Tickets are free, however JHST is a not-for-profit charity and donations are greatly appreciated.
