Doors Open Toronto – Allan I. Carswell Observatory

The Observatory will be open to visitors as part of Doors Open Toronto 2024. Stop by anytime between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. to learn all about the fascinating work being done by York astronomers and see the largest telescope on any Canadian campus.

About the AICO Observatory at York

Home to the largest telescope on any Canadian university campus, our 1-metre telescope, as well as a 60-centimetre and a 40-centimetre telescope. Our telescopes are used by students, faculty, and volunteers for research and astronomy outreach. We have in-person viewing, a “York Universe” radio podcast, group tours, special events and more.
