Documentary and talk on deportation: I Don’t Belong Here

The Program of Portuguese & Luso-Brazilian Studies presents the Toronto premiere of I Don’t Belong Here, a documentary on deportation from the United States and Canada to the Azores, with speaker Marcie Ponte. Ponte (honorary doctor of laws degree, York University, 2019) is executive director of Working Women Community Centre. For decades, Ponte has been an advocate for families on a multitude of issues that relate to ethnic, racial and migrant issues, including those regarding deportation.
