Devised Theatre Festival 2022
York University’s Devised Theatre class of 2022 is excited to present this year’s Devised Theatre Festival. The Festival consists of four different shows by four different companies consisting of students from the class, their crews, and the PM team.

The Great Escape Co. presents The Tabella (SERIES A)
The Tabella Hotel has accompanied many guests over the years, but this time we take a closer look at the people within. Who are they? Who writes their stories? And how are we influenced by those that cross our paths?
Cicadian presents Fruits of Labour (SERIES A)
Cicadian presents: Fruits of Labour, a devised piece about the commodification of creation. The three interconnecting storylines explore the complexity of relationships through themes of race in healthcare, class disparity, and abuse of power.
NOVA Theatre presents Project 37 (SERIES B)
Project 37 focuses on 5 individuals who sign up for medical testing for financial compensation. As the trial progresses, they learn that not everything is as it seems, forcing them to question if they will ever be able to persevere through the challenges they are faced with.
FOURTIFY presents Apophenic Undayra (SERIES B)
Have you ever felt like you’ve seen something in the dark? Not sure whether your eyes are playing a trick on you or that shadow did indeed move? Apophenic Undayra is a devised horror piece surrounding this very feeling of unease. Four distant cousins come together again to mourn the loss of their Aunt Hazel, whom they spent their childhood summers with. Upon arrival strange occurrences begin to happen, and the cousins begin to question whether Aunt Hazel and their childhood was as perfect as they once thought….
