DANCE 2510: Philippine Folk Dance Information Session

We will be hosting an mini-lecture & information session for the FA/DANCE 2510 course on Tuesday February 25, 2020 at 4:30pm in the YI Classroom – 242 York Lanes.
While learning about the country’s history, culture, politics, material conditions and other related expressive cultures through lectures, students will also have the opportunity to see the culture through activities and excursions in and around Manila, the capital of the Philippines. In taking this course and learning the dances, students can reflect upon how Filipinos have negotiated their everyday lives, the outside, and various forces that have entered their locales.
This session is a great opportunity to experience a glimpse of the learning you would be doing in the FA/DANCE 2510 Course. We will also providing even more detail about the course, including where you’ll be staying, costs, and funding opportunities. We’ll also have a look at the program calendar and syllabus to give you the best and most accurate picture of what this exciting course will look like.
