Creative Writing Program Reading Series presents Matthew Walsh

Matthew Walsh is a writer from Nova Scotia and an alumnus of York University’s Creative Writing Program. Their debut collection, These are not the potatoes of my youth, was published in 2019 and was a finalist for the Gerald Lampert and Trillium Awards for poetry. In this nomadic journey from the Maritimes, through the railway cafés of Alberta, to the love letters and graffiti of Vancouver, Walsh explores queer identity set against an ever-changing landscape of what we want, and who we are, were, and came to be. Walsh’s recent work can be found in CV2 Qwerty, and untethered magazines.
