Celebrating the Music of Canadian Jewish Composers

The Koschitzky Centre for Jewish Studies and the Department of Music in the School of the Arts, Media, Performance and Design are proud to present a chamber music recital celebrating the music of Canadian Jewish composers as part of the year-long performance series “Sound and Sense: Jewish Music @ York”. The diverse program features rarely performed works presented by acclaimed York department of music faculty Mark Chambers (cello), Katherine Dowling (piano), Amy Hillis (violin), Patricia Wait (clarinet) and several special guests!

The recital will be preceded by a pre-concert talk by scholar-performer Diane Kolin who will be sharing insights about the repertoire performed and the composers who wrote these works.

Trio for Clarinet, Cello and Piano in A minor (Op. 40) by Carl Frühling
