CANCELLED: An Earthling’s Guide to Outer Space with Quirks and Quarks host Bob McDonald

Lassonde School of Engineering and Space Place Canada are proud to present Bob McDonald, host of CBC Radio’s Quirks & Quarks. McDonald will bring to life his book An Earthling’s Guide to Outer Space: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Black Holes, Dwarf Planets, Aliens, and More.
From dark matter to Martian caves, this book covers the past, present, and future of space exploration. Don’t miss an opportunity to learn first-hand from one of Canada’s best-known science journalists.
You will also have the opportunity to hear from Henry Lotin, president and co-Chair of Space Place Planetarium Canada, on the latest developments in their efforts to bring a public planetarium facility to Toronto. Toronto has not had a public planetarium since 1995.
An Earthling’s Guide to Outer Space: Everything You Ever Wanted to Know About Black Holes, Dwarf Planets, Aliens, and More will be on sale at the event for $29.95.
Guests will be able to have their copy signed and inscribed by the author.
ABOUT THE SPEAKER
Bob McDonald has been communicating science internationally through television, radio, print and live presentations for more than 40 years. He is the host of CBC Radio’s Quirks & Quarks, the award-winning science program with a national audience of nearly 500,000 people. He is also a regular reporter for CBC Television’s The National as well as Gemini-winning host and writer of the children’s series Heads Up! McDonald has also hosted The Greatest Canadian Invention and the seven-part series Water Under Fire.
