Beast A La Mode
York University Department of Dance faculty member Syreeta Hector will present new choreography entitled Beast A la Mode at the Fleck Dance Theatre, Harbourfront Centre between Nov 2-5th as part of the ProArteDance Fall Season.
Beast A La Mode by Syreeta Hector examines the powerful influence the environment has over identity, aspects of ourselves that are revealed or concealed depending on different locales and social context. Beast A La Mode investigates the uneasy contradictions of character we develop in order to survive everyday life, and highlights our essential need to compete depending on circumstance. Beast A La Mode was created through the Creative Encounters Program with ProArteDanza
This piece was originally workshopped through the Creative Encounters Residency Program, and will premiere in the ProArte fall season at the Fleck Dance Theatre Harbourfront Centre from November 2nd- November 5th.

Syreeta Hector is a dance artist and educator in Toronto, Ontario. As a highly accomplished performer, Syreeta has worked for internationally recognized companies like Adelheid Dance Projects, Danny Grossman Dance Company, Peggy Baker Dance Projects, Political Movement, and Toronto Dance Theatre. She is a proud graduate of The National Ballet School’s Teacher Training Program, The School of Toronto Dance Theatre, and has achieved her Master of Arts in Dance Studies from York University.
