Ballet Creole presents Soulful Messiah
Ballet Creole presents the holiday classic, Soulful Messiah this December 17-18, 2022 as part of York University AMPD’s “Year of the Arts” Series.
This Canadian-grown holiday tradition is rooted in music and movements from the African Diaspora, integrating traditional and contemporary vocabulary created by Caribbean-born, Artistic Director, Patrick Parson and inspired by the powerful musical arrangement of Quincy Jones entitled “Handel’s Messiah – A Soulful Celebration”.
Over the past 20 years, this ballet has grown and cultivated into a truly inspiring celebration of life, death and love with every song full of purpose and interconnected meaning. The dance vocabulary includes, tap, jazz, afro-caribbean, ballet, contemporary, hip hop and free-style and the musical score includes gospel, R&B, pop and more.
The diverse range of disciplines and styles are connected by the vision for universal love. Come be part of this soulful celebration in person or join us online for the livestream version!
