Altered States, or Hollowing Caves with Feathers of Air
Altered States, or Hollowing Caves with Feathers of Air is an art exhibition which brings together current York BFA, MFA students and alumni to collectively imagine the creative and evolving potential of intaglio printmaking. With allusion to William Blake’s poem, “The Marriage of Heaven and Hell”, and his imaginative description therein of his etched, inked and printed plates, this exhibition includes press printed works, digital prints, books, and moving image animation. Together these artworks consider how image, material process and metaphoric reach are inscribed and altered through states of change.
