Africa Is Not a Country Series(4th Edition)
The Faculty of Environmental and Urban Change at York University presents the seminar series: “Africa Is Not a Country’’
This series aims to address the absent, inadequate, skewed, and inaccurate representation of Africa and African issues in global discourse.
Join us for a thought-provoking conversation on how Africa navigates the complex terrain of intellectual property in a globalized world. Our panel will unpack the tensions between Western legal paradigms and African approaches to knowledge and innovation, highlighting strategies that both protect local creators and challenge dominant IP frameworks that often marginalize African contributions.
