8-Count: Delightful moments of dance cinema
A cinematic exploration of how the art of screendance and storytelling continues to evolve post-pandemic. FFDN is thrilled to make our silver screen debut with the newest addition to our festival’s mainstage programming 8-Count: Delightful moments of dance cinema.
Join us for two live cinema screenings at the Betty Oliphant Theatre (Sep 23, 7:30 PM), a charming venue with a Victorian facade, or the stunning Sandra Faire and Ivan Fecan Theatre at York University (Sep 24, 2:00 PM). Each screening will be followed by a moderated artist chat with select 8-Count filmmakers and artists, sharing insight into their creative process and vision of what it means to make dance on film.
8-Count screenings will showcase the following short films, in no particular order:
TRAX (an Excerpt)
Our Bodies Back
AUTOCORRECT
The Child Within
Slipping
Inklings
