Online Texts: Torah and the Transformations of New Media

A talk by Sara Wolkenfeld

Sara Wolkenfeld is the Chief Learning Officer at Sefaria, an online database and interface for Jewish texts. Sara is a member of Class Six of the Wexner Field Fellowship and an alumna of the David Hartman Center at the Hartman Institute of North America. Sara also serves as Scholar-in-Residence at Ohev Sholom Congregation in Washington, DC. Her current research and writing focus on the intersection of Jewish ethics and advancements in technology. Sara’s writing has been published in The Atlantic, First Things, and Religion Dispatches, as well as in numerous Jewish publications.

Artificial Intelligence and What’s Next for Jews and Judaism

A talk by David Zvi Kalman

David Zvi Kalman is a research fellow at the Shalom Hartman Institute and a Senior Advisor at Sinai and Synapses. As a Jewish futurist, he has written widely on matters on the cutting edge of Jewish thought, including art, psychoactives, and technology. His podcast, Belief in the Future, covers matters of religion and technology. He is the owner of Print-O-Craft Press and writes at Jello Menorah. Born and raised in Toronto, he has a PhD from the University of Pennsylvania.
