2023 Dance Studies Graduate Symposium
The Department of Dance graduate program is excited to announce our upcoming Dance Studies Graduate Symposium, a multi-day, virtual event taking place on Friday, April 28 and Saturday, April 29. The symposium will feature two days of guest speakers from dance studies and related fields, plus an interdisciplinary roundtable featuring York University graduate students. The event will be held in conjunction with the annual Selma Odom Lectures on Thursday, April 27 (a hybrid online and in-person event this year) and a virtual lecture + movement experience with the Somatics Working Group on Sunday, April 30. Please see the attached flyer for details on guest speakers and daily schedules.
With International Dance Day coming on April 29, we invite you to come join us for any or all of these events to celebrate! You can find more information on each event and guest speaker in the attached flyer, then REGISTER HERE by Friday, April 21 for whichever events you like. Zoom links for each session will be sent out to all registrants the week prior to the events.
We hope you will join us, and we look forward to seeing you there. If you have any questions about the symposium, joint events, or registration, please reach out to Dr. Bridget Cauthery (cauthery@yorku.ca) or Graduate Program Assistant Michelle Johnson (mijo@yorku.ca).
